Reports

ROS has four basic reports: Matrix, Item Analysis, Multi-category, and Progress. Each report features a Control box which enables the user to specify the exact disaggregation and display format. All the underlying data are "live", meaning test keys may be revised or student responses received, and the reports are automatically updated.

The Matrix Report is used to make detailed instructional decisions based on performance. Students may be grouped by any combination of NCLB or user defined categories, including class, school, etc. Each student group is represented by a single row in the report. Test items are grouped by one or more content categories (Item number, Standard, Strand, etc.), with each group receiving a column in the report.

The Item Analysis Report is used to validate the test and view the details of the students' responses. Each row represents one item on the test, while each column contains the number of students who chose each answer option. The correct answer is highlighted, and the per-student bubble sheet is displayed, making this report perfect for individual remediation.

The Multi-category Report is a variation on the Matrix report, with additional student groups displayed in new rows, instead of subdividing the existing groups. Initially, this report is divided by Ethnicity, Gender, Disability and LEP, which mimics the format of typical AYP reports. The body of the Multi-category Report features all the same options for item grouping as the Matrix Report.

The Progress Report is used to track performance over time, by comparing results of up to 8 assessments. The rows are divided by an item group, and each test is placed in chronological order in a separate column. The tests need not be exactly parallel, as the report will vertically align the common standards. This allows you to compare a benchmark series to the interim remediation tests.

A Control Box follows every ROS report. It contains controls for a variety of aggregation and display options. Each report will have some unique options, while the majority are common for all reports. The latter group includes: displaying scores as pecentages, fractions, and/or counts, dividing the report into multiple tables by NCLB, downloading as a spreadsheet for post-processing, etc.
